touching Taiwan wood

A simple photo taken of my wife’s hand on the wood used for two of the gates in the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo, Japan, which are made of wood harvested in Taiwan. There are many who come from Taiwan that visit the shrine for the simple act of touching the wood of these gates, then they leave.
